March 26, 2015
Our Program Director, Caitlin Rackish, is off on another adventure! This March and April, Caitlin will spend nearly a month traveling to Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (twice), Uganda, and Kenya (twice). She will be visiting our existing partners Milgis Trust in Kenya, Georges Malaika Foundation in the DRC, and Good Future & Hope in Uganda, as well as meeting with potential new partners. She will check up on our projects funded by Women Helping Women, Jewel’s Project Clean Water and Virgin Unite through Give A Drop, Lene Maria for Rent Vann, and Kim and Tenny Field.
While Voss Foundation partners with organizations on the ground all across Sub-Saharan Africa, from Liberia to Swaziland, the majority of our work has been in the eastern sub-continent. Our first project ever, begun in 2008, was in the community of Latakwen, in the Samburu region of Kenya, where our founder was inspired to create Voss Foundation. We began working in the DRC in 2010, and Uganda in 2014.
It is of utmost importance to Voss Foundation to stay in close contact with our partners and to visit them and the communities we work with as often as possible, to be able to follow their progress, ensure sustainability, report transparently, and monitor our Ripple Effect.
Check our website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, over the next several weeks for updates from the field, and a recap when Caitlin returns. In the meantime, we wish her safe travels, bon voyage, and safari ya salama!
