Home · Blog · News : WHW Hamptons 2017: Recap

On August 7th, Voss Foundation’s third annual Women Helping Women (WHW) Hamptons luncheon raised awareness and over $36,000 to support our mission to fund access to water, sanitation, and hygiene as a means to enable community-driven development in Sub-Saharan Africa. Over 100 supporters came to Tutto il Giorno, to shop, enjoy lunch, and celebrate global female empowerment.

Upon arrival, guests enjoyed cocktails featuring VOSS flavored sparkling and vodka from Empowers cocktails as well as wine from Chateau St. Michelle while shopping the African Bazaar for handmade items purchased directly from communities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Liberia, Swaziland, and Uganda where Voss Foundation works.

During lunch, Ms. Camara moved the room by sharing her personal story. “I am speaking in front of you today because I was given an opportunity,” said Ms. Camara, “Women and girls drive change in their communities. We can help translate their obstacles into power and transformation.” In the spirit of women helping women, Ms. Krieger turned to her table and thanked the women who work alongside her at Empowers Africa, reminding us all that by working together we can impact countless lives.

On behalf of the entire Voss Foundation team, thank you to all those who attended this year’s luncheon. This year’s attendees generosity speaks to their commitment to provide essential human rights to women and their families across sub-Saharan Africa — water, sanitation, and hygiene. We also want to take this opportunity to thank our Master of Ceremonies, Frederick Anderson, and our honorees, Krista Krieger and Mariama Camara.

The luncheon would not have been possible without the support from our dedicated sponsors: Tutto il Giorno, Chateau Ste. Michelle, Empower Cocktails, Purist, and VOSS Water. We are also grateful to our committee members: Frederick Anderson, Aydin Arjomand, Patrice Casanova, Cristina Cuomo, Andrea Greeven Douzet, Sophie Elgort, Lindy Gad, Kara Gerson, Nina Griscom, Katherine Kung, Christine Mack, Fatou Niang, Beth O’Donnell, Rachel Paletsky, Paola Bacchini Rosenshein, Susan Shin, and Kristen and Seth Whalen.
