We almost couldn’t believe it this week when we heard from our implementing partners, AED and Caritas, that they think it may be possible to leverage the success from our first project to rehabilitate five wells for less money than what it cost to do three in Kanikombole!
The photo here shows a Malian well prior to rehabilitation. As you can see, it is unsecured, posing a safety risk, and vulnerable to a great amount of contamination.
If everything goes as planned, by the end of this year we will have rehabbed ten wells! When we think about how many people rely on each of those wells for their water needs, we are pretty proud of ourselves — and of you, our supporters, for helping us get so far. Thank you!
We’ll be sure to keep you posted when we have more Pel details.
