This drawing illustrates what water means to a student in Kenya.

During a recent site visit to Masikita, Kenya to visit the opening ceremony of the first Lene Maria for Clean Water project, our local partner Milgis Trust was very excited to tell us that the first 5 Voss Foundation clean water projects in Kenya (Latakwen, Swari, Ndonyo Nasipa, Urra, and Masiketa) produce about 60,000 liters of clean water per day, or 21,900,000 liters each year!

The completion of our sixth water project at Seren and Kasipo will provide an additional 20,000 liters of clean water each day – which means Voss Foundation provides access to 30 million liters of clean water each year – in Kenya alone!

The Voss Foundation Ripple Effect extends to 5 other countries as well – through our water projects in Mali, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, and Swaziland! The picture above was drawn by a student in the Samburu region of Kenya, in response to the question, “What does water mean to you?” It was sent to us by our local implementing partner, Milgis Trust. Learn more about how access to water affects communities on our page: Water and the Environment.

Happy Earth Day from Voss Foundation!
