Don’t miss the opportunity to join the Bergum family for the opening of the second Lene Maria for Rent Vann project in Kenya: the Milgis School and Ilgwe Eldome. The group will travel to Kenya in August and there are still a few places left. More information is available at:
The stamp in my passport says I’m home in Norway, but my head is definitely still in Samburu. The Bergums, the opening of the new source, the camel journey…the Samburus…all went very well it seems and I will never ever forget the smiles on all those happy people in Masikita that got water to the village, the health station and the school.
-Jørgen Roll, a Voss Foundation supporter, who accompanied the Bergums on their trip to the Masikita opening ceremony
After 19-year-old Lene Maria Bergum was tragically killed in the attacks at Utøya in 2011, her family decided to honor her with a fundraising campaign for a Voss Foundation clean water project. Two years later, the Bergums have accomplished this extraordinary fundraising feat and much more, raising over 1 million NOK to fund 15 clean water access points and four sanitation facilities in Kenya and Liberia, in line with their mission of supporting projects in Africa that improve access to clean water, healthcare and education.
We urge all interested supporters to consider signing up by the June 1 deadline!
