Voss Foundation donor Lene Maria for Rent Vann (Norwegian for “Lene Maria for Clean Water”) celebrated their fifth anniversary with a fundraiser on January 28, 2017 in Namsos, Norway. Our Board Member, Knut Brundtland, and our European Representative, Cecilie Malm Brundtland, joined Arnulf and Tove Bergum, the founders of Lene Maria for Rent Vann, and their guests at the celebration.

Cecilie had only the highest praise for the evening. “[The event] was a great success,” she said. “One-hundred and ten guests attended the dinner and enjoyed a fantastic five course meal made by chef Thomas Valø. The dinner, which was organized for free as a contribution to the cause, was was absolutely spectacular.

They also held an auction with works donated from different local artists, and a Stuart Franklin print from Voss Foundation, which was bough by Sunniva Bergum, Tove and Arnulf´s daughter. (I think it was so sweet of her.) The auction raised more than NOK 130,000, which is approximately $15,500.00!

Arnulf Bergum gave a speech about Lene Maria for Clean Water’s achievements over the last 5 years; the projects they have funded provide 10,000 people in Kenya, Liberia, and Uganda with access to clean water. Their fundraising tools include dinners, lotteries, cake sales, and campaigns by high school graduates.

Voss Foundation’s Board member, Knut Brundtland, also gave a speech. He explained how the collaboration between Voss Foundation and Lene Maria for Rent Vann began, and thanked them for 5 fantastic years of collaboration with the best partners we could dream of!”

Congratulations to Lene Maria for Rent Vann on another successful fundraiser. We are honored to be associated with this beautiful and impressive campaign, and was delighted to join in the event in Namsos. We thank the Bergum family and everyone else who has contributed to this extraordinary success!
