Word about the Lene Maria for Rent Vann campaign (or, Lene Maria for Clean Water, in English), and the need for water in Sub-Saharan Africa, will be spread through yet another creative, interesting channel: the Bergum family has been invited to participate in a research conference in Namsos at Sør-Trøndelag University College as part of Forskningsdagene, The National Science Week in Norway!
Sør-Trøndelag University College, which has a focus on water, invited the Bergums to give two lectures to students about Lene Maria for Rent Vann, the intersection of water and education, their completed and upcoming projects, and their personal experience with Milgis Trust and Voss Foundation. Lene Maria for Rent Vann will also have a stand that explains the importance of clean water for the whole of the week.
Forskningsdagene is an annual event designed to make science and research available to people of all ages. According to the Forskningsdagene website, “events range from science fairs, demonstrations, lectures, “stand-up scientist” performances, exhibits and discussions, to tours, information stands, and cultural and hands-on activities.” This year Forskningsdagene begins on September 25th, 2013.
Voss Foundation congratulates the Bergums on this exciting opportunity! We continue to be incredibly impressed by their dedication and concern for the communities they have helped (and will continue to help) and are proud to be a part of this beautiful memorial to Lene Maria. We encourage all who are in Namsos during Forskningsdagene to stop by Sør-Trøndelag University College in support of Lene Maria for Rent Vann!
