It has been an eventful week in the New York office!
After a year and a half with Voss Foundation, Program Assistant, Kathleen Yaworsky, left this week to begin a graduate program at Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Dimplomacy. We wish her luck on this new adventure. Her departure coincided with the return of Voss Foundation’s Executive Director, Kara Gerson, who has been on maternity leave.
With Kathleen’s impending departure, many new faces appeared in the office throughout the summer.
Our new Program Officer, Caitlin Rackish, joined the team in late June. Caitlin graduated from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) in May with a Masters in Public Administration, and a concentration in international development practice. Caitlin has lived in Benin and Senegal, and has experience designing, implementing, and evaluating water, sanitation, and hygiene projects. She will assist with program and partnership development.
We also welcomed three new summer interns who have been invaluable to Voss Foundation: Hassan Ayoub, Danaé Hirsch, and Olivia Powers.
Hassan Ayoub was born in Lebanon, and moved to New York in 2012. He studies at Brooklyn College, and is pursing a double major in Accounting and Business Management & Finance. Voss Foundation is fortunate to have Hassan on board through the winter to assist the accounting team.
Originally from Paris, France, Danaé Hirsch will graduate from Bowdoin College in the spring of 2014. Although Danaé is double majoring in Government and Romance Languages, she assists Voss Foundation with website development, creative content, and media outreach. We look forward to her continued help this fall.
Olivia Powers, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a rising Junior and Anthropology major at Union College. At Voss Foundation, Olivia works on donor management and outreach, public relations, and assists with activities like the African Bazaar.
Voss Water and Voss Foundation had a small celebration on Tuesday to bid farewell Kathleen, welcome Kara back, and celebrate summer birthdays.
Voss Foundation is also looking for fall interns. If you or someone you know is interested in an internship with Voss Foundation, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information.
