The Dogon opening party at Heiberg Cummings Gallery in New York last week was a huge success! The room was packed full of art collectors, philanthropists, and other fans of the Voss Foundation and Stuart Franklin. The party raised both awareness of the global water crisis and vital funds to combat it, as a good time was had by all.
Thank you to everyone who came. We are especially grateful to Bill Cummings, Bernt Heiberg, and the rest of the HCD team for so generously hosting us, donating their time, space, and money. Stuart Franklin was unable to join us but his agent at Magnum, Song Chong was there and finally able to see the fruits of all her and Stuart’s labor! Chelsea Frames was kind enough to help with the framing and T. Edward wines sponsored the wine; VOSS provided additional refreshments. The event was photographed by Guest of a Guest.
As Voss Foundation president Knut Brundtland said, “This is the first U.S. public exhibition of The Dogon, but it is not the last!”
The photos will be in Miami next month and exhibits are in the works for additional cities around the world.
The Dogon remains on display at Heiberg Cummings until January 31, 2010.
