Sandy Leong is a New York based, fully sustainable fine jeweler. Conscientious of the long term, global impact of mining precious resources, Sandy remains sustainable by constructing each of her pieces in recycled 18 karat gold and ethically sourcing conflict free diamonds and gemstones. All production is done locally in New York through sustainable manufacturers who are transparent about their commitment to sustainability.
Sandy first began working with Voss Foundation in 2015 for the launch of her rain-inspired fine jewelry collection, aptly named RAIN. “My partnership and friendship with the Voss Foundation team is a natural fit” she explains. “Their continued efforts to provide clean water and sanitation for Saharan Africa, align with my design ethos to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable efforts worldwide.”
This past season Sandy developed the ZIYA capsule collection, designed in partnership with artisans in Kenya. Sourcing natural materials from the region offers a compliment to her gold, diamond and gemstone based collections, while promoting community driven businesses. “Every time we turn on our faucets we expect fresh, clean drinking water.” she continues. “It’s such a basic necessity that we often take for granted and I’m thrilled to offer my support to both Voss Foundation and my global artisan partners.”
Sandy Leong donates a percentage of the proceeds from her RAIN and ZIYA collections to Voss Foundation’s mission to provide access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene as a means to enable community-driven development in Sub-Saharan Africa.
